The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to a new contract, keeping the speedy outside target as a weapon for Patrick Mahomes.
Smith-Schuster was part of the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl last season before the team was walloped by the Philadelphia Eagles in the championship game.
This will be Smith-Schuster’s third season with the Chiefs after spending 2022 and 2024 on their roster.
The length and value of Smith-Schuster’s new contract have yet to be revealed, with it believed Kansas City is brining him back into the fold on a 1-year deal.
With the loss of DeAndre Hopkins to the Baltimore Ravens, the Chiefs may rely on Smith-Schuster more in 2025, with the returning Rashee Rice and up-and-coming Xavier Worthy.
Smith-Schuster’s stats are not that impressive from last season, catching 18 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns.

Smith-Schuster may have been behind the rest of the wide-receiving corps last year, as he only signed with the Chiefs for a second stint the week before the regular season began.
The 28-year-old spent one season bookended by his time in Kansas City with the New England Patriots, watching the final season of Bill Belichick’s NFL tenure up close.
Smith-Schuster spent his first five NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with his best season coming in 2018, where he made the Pro Bowl.
The Chiefs rebuild includes bringing back Mahomes’ favorite target in the passing game, Travis Kelce.
Kelce announced through Pat McAfee earlier this month that he was coming back to the NFL for at least one more season after much speculation that his career could be over due to his booming personal life.
Kelce has been dating Taylor Swift since September 2023, when she appeared at a Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears.
