Lizzo tells Andy Cohen she has ‘beef’ with him after outing her relationship with Myke Wright
Lizzo is letting Andy Cohen know she has “beef” with him.
During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” the “About Damn Time” singer playfully accused Cohen of forcing her to reveal her romance with boyfriend Myke Wright during their last on-air chat.
“You know what?” said Lizzo, 36. “I really got beef with you because the last time we saw each other you f—— outed me!” (Warning: The below video contains profanity.)
Cohen agreed that he “inadvertently” pushed Lizzo to admit she had a boyfriend after asking about paparazzi pics of her and a “mystery man” during an April 2022 interview on his SiriusXM series “Radio Andy.”
Lizzo recalled that the moment was “so funny” because Wright was actually in the studio with her and Cohen at the time.
“I was in such a weird position because, like, we’re so private, but he was there and I was like, ‘I don’t want to say ‘no’ because I don’t want to (hurt him)’,” she said.Cohen wondered if their exchange led to any awkwardness between Lizzo and Wright, who works as an actor and comedian.
“No. It started s— with the world, though,” she responded, adding, “I think when the world sees two happy people, they want to destroy them.”
Lizzo and Wright made their relationship public in June 2022 after they attended a couple of events together.
In February 2023, Lizzo shared several images of her and Wright being affectionate at a pre-Grammys gala. She captioned the since-deleted post, “Hard launch.”
The following day, the couple walked the red carpet together at the 2023 Grammys.
Lizzo and Wright have known each other for many years. In 2016, they co-hosted MTV’s music series “Wonderland,” and also posed together at the premiere of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” and “Sweet/Vicious.”
The couple have been romantically linked since October 2021.
“I’ve known him for over six years. He’s everything. We’re just in love. And that’s it,” Lizzo told Vanity Fair in an October 2022 interview.
The musician went on to say her heart belonged to Wright and Wright alone.
“I am not a polyamorous person, I’m not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He’s the love of my life. We are life mates,” said Lizzo.
She added “We’re like the mirror image of each other. We’re connected. But that doesn’t mean I was incomplete when I met him.”
