Netanyahu moves to oust domestic security chief amid tensions over Oct.7 attacks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday informed the chief of the country’s internal security agency Shin Bet that he will ask the government to dismiss him, “due to ongoing lack of trust”. The announcement comes amid tensions between Israel’s political arm and the military over who is to blame for failing to prevent the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas.
