Rylan Clark has issued an apology to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay this morning after revealing that he managed to smuggle something out of his restaurant this weekend.

Chatting on his weekly Rylan on Saturday BBC Radio 2 show, the 36-year-old opened up about his recent antics as he admitted: “I’ve got to apologise to Gordon Ramsay. I stole something out of his restaurant last night.”

Recalling the incident, he even confessed that it wasn’t the first time that he had secretly nabbed something from the chef’s popular restaurant on King Street.

He shared: “I went to his lovely restaurant last night, I do like it in there, and it’s called Lucky Cat, it’s like all Chinese food.

“Every time I’ve gone there, and I’ve always been open and honest about this. He rests the chopsticks on like little golden cats, they’re gorgeous, I’ve stolen them before, that’s what you do.”

However, it was during a trip to use the toilet that another item belonging to the restaurant caught his eye.

“Well, I went to the bathroom and they had ones that where about this big, about two foot tall,” he continued.

But, in a peculiar turn of events, the former X-Factor star revealed that the two-foot decorative cat was actually given to him as a gift, as he happened to cross paths with Gordon’s daughter, Holly.

And, after proudly taking it home in his bag, he revealed that he has no intentions of giving it back.

Rylan isn’t the only one who has taken a likening to the small cat figures.

During a recent appearance on the Jonathan Ross show, the host told Gordon that he does the same thing, and even pulled out one of the miniature figurines from his pocket live on air, exclaiming: “I genuinely thought you were allowed to take them home”.

Rylan made his confession upon his radio return, after falling ill last weekend.

In his absence, he was replaced by Strictly Come Dancing star Ritchie Anderson, who addressed his co-star’s illness live on air.

He joked: “The reason I’m in is because Rylan’s got the sniffles, apparently.

“However, our listeners disagree because he’s been spotted a lot out and about this week.”

Hitting back on Instagram, Rylan jokingly called out the “lies” and thanked fans for their well wishes.
